The New Planning Regulations for Zero Carbon Developments
11th December 2007, Central London

Billed as a “challenging package of measures for planners and house builders”, the overall strategy Building a Greener Future: Towards Zero Carbon Development (December 2006) aims to reduce carbon emissions and bring innovation to the building industry, as part of the Government’s agenda to move towards zero carbon development, with all new homes to be zero carbon by 2016.

The conference will examine the implications of the new legislation, including the Key Planning Objectives in PPS1 supplement and engage in the delivery of zero carbon homes focusing on how the developments can become a reality. It will cater for those at the forefront of this delivery; Architects, Developers and Local Authorities.

Following a background to the legislation and developing the planning system to accommodate climate change in the morning, the afternoon will see the delegates split into 3 spotlight sessions. These tailored sessions will advise, from the particular perspective, on implementation of the new policy and showcase best practice examples and case studies.
